Saturday August 20: The Museum of Printing and Graphic Communication

We then visited the Museum of Printing and Graphic Communication which presented the exhibition dedicated to the great French poster artist Charles Loupot (1892-1962).

Born July 20, 1892 in Nice, Charles Loupot enrolled in 1911 at the École des beaux-arts in Lyon. There he produced his first poster on the student ball, in a very figurative but already very mastered style; the Printing Museum has just acquired one of the rare remaining copies of this early creation.

The poster artist was mobilized during the Great War, he was injured. Installed with his parents in Lausanne, he returned to professional life, his first drawings were published in La feuille d'Avis de Lausanne.
